Dhs 163,000 raised for Al Ain Private Centre for Care and Rehabilitation

A high-goal charity match at Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club has raised Dh112,000 for the Al Ain Private Centre for Care & Rehabilitation this evening after the hosts beat Habtoor Polo in a 9-7 clash.

The 20-goal match, the highest handicapped polo to be played in the UAE this season was a new addition to Ghantoot’s polo calendar and is held under the patronage of the club’s chairman, HH Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Community Development Authority (CDA) launched Dubai Volunteering Center, the UAE’s First Governmental Center for voluntary work, as a part of CDA’s efforts to promote awareness about voluntary culture in Dubai and develop social service standards.

The Center, which also comes in line with the UAE Vision 2021 and the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015 to promote voluntary culture, will aim at spreading awareness about the importance of this culture, encourage individuals to further participate in volunteering activities, and qualify and train volunteers in cooperation with competent authorities from both the public and private sectors. 5th International Quilt Show Dubai supports Dubai Cares

AED 11,000 Donations for Dubai Cares

The 5th International Quilt Show Dubai concluded successfully at Festival Centre Dubai Festival City in a Prize Giving Ceremony where a cheque of AED 11,000 raised through contributions to win a Charity Quilt, was donated to Dubai Cares to support their primary education programs. The Founder of the International Quilt Show Dubai handed the cheque to a Dubai Cares Representative in a ceremony attended by the 24 quilters from the Guild, Islamic Affairs, Festival Centre management and quilt fans.

Dubai Cares offered the 24 quilters, who collectively designed and stitched an impressive quilt as a gift for the philanthropic organization a Certificate of Appreciation for their support and efforts. The Quilt had 24 stitched pictures of schools and flags representing the countries where Dubai Cares has programs. A raffle draw took place for the Charity Quilt and the Viewers’ Choice prize was presented upon its receipt of the highest votes from exhibition attendees. Read more

Funds Raising Campaign for Syrian refugees
