Kenza Art Gallery in collaboration with Artchowk, will be holding an exhibition entitled ‘Where Spirits Land,’ a unique collaboration between artists Sumaira Isaacs, Shakira Masood and Ziyyad Gulzar from March 10-31st 2010. The exhibition will be held at the Kenza Art Gallery located at the Souk Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai.

- The exhibition is a tribute to the few people on the planet who stand still to the test of time and tyranny;
- The exhibition includes works by Hady Sy, Noel Jabbour, Raed Bawayah, Steve Sabella, Richard Mosse and Sama Alshaibi.

Sunidhi Chauhan set to mesmerize fans in Feb 18 Dubai concert

India’s top singing diva, Sunidhi Chauhan, is all set to perform this DSF in an exclusive concert on Thursday, February 18, titled ‘Salaam Dubai’. The concert will begin at 9:30pm and be held at the Madinat Arena Dubai where the dynamic singer will belt out her most famous hits.
Tickets are priced at AED150, 250, 500 and 1000, and are available at Choithram outlets, in addition to www.timeouttickets.com and www.boxofficeme.com.
Credited with over 2000 songs, Chauhan began to sing at the age of four, and was discovered by a local TV anchor. She won recognition through a televised singing contest, Meri Awaz Suno, which she won, and made her entrance into playback singing. She has been nominated for twelve Filmfare Awards, winning it on three occasions. She has also won two Star Screen Awards, two IIFA Awards and one Zee Cine Award.
GFF 2010 Invites Submissions from Student Filmmakers

The third Gulf Film Festival (GFF), an annual event celebrating Gulf cinema, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, is currently receiving submissions from students of all nationalities for its Student Competition for documentary and short films.
The competition is open to works made or produced by students of all nationalities during their academic study or as part of a college project. GCC national students can submit films on any subject while all other nationalities must submit films that pertain to life in the Gulf.
Artists display stunning works at Al Seef Street

Numerous artists from the Emirates Fine Arts Society are showcasing different genres and an extraordinary display of talent this DSF at the Al Seef Street.
Khalilullah Chemnad, Indian-born Arabic calligrapher, displays his one-of-a-kind collection of anatomic Arabic calligraphy at Seef. Born with talents and harnessed with skills, Khalilullah creates portraits of high-profile personalities using the corresponding calligraphy of their names. Among his creations is the DSF logo in calligraphy using the words in Arabic. He is presently involved in drawing the face and calligraphy honouring His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. This seven-metre canvas of Arabic calligraphy will be part of a huge art wall that will contain several pieces of artworks from the participating artists.

One Small Step makes giant leap to Dubai

The countdown is on for ONE SMALL STEP, a huge hit at the 2008 and 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, which is touching down at Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre (DUCTAC) from 10th – 14th February.
The action-packed show, which will take place at DUCTAC’s Kilachand Theatre, tells the story of one of the most exciting adventures of the Twentieth Century – the space race.
From rocket launches to orbits of the earth, huge g-forces to the first dog in space, and those unforgettable first steps, the excitement of this explosive period of history will be brought to life on stage in a show described by Time Out London as ‘a life-affirmingly brilliant piece of theatre’.
