IATA to open a regional branch in UAE

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is about to setup an office in the United Arab Emirates, according to an announcement on Twitter by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai is the most popular UAE-based Twitter user with nearly 2 million followers.
We also adopted an agreement with IATA to open a regional branch here. The UAE is a key destination for the Aviation industry.

UAE Welcomes First Train

Etihad Rail – the developer and operator of the UAE’s national railway network – today announced the arrival at Mussafah Port of the first two of seven locomotives to be shipped to the UAE.
The locomotives arrived as construction on Stage One of the UAE’s national rail project is well underway. The two locomotives are the first rolling stock to arrive since the delivery of the company’s batch of wagons last December, together with which will form the UAE’s first trains. Read more

The owners of vehicles locked at the Dubai police’s impound yard for more than six months have to pay their outstanding fines. Individuals, insurance companies and banks will have to pay the confiscation fee for their vehicles or their properties will be put on auction in a two-month term by Dubai Police. Read more

Traffic growth continues to slow in September

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global traffic results for September showing a continued slowdown in the rate of traffic growth. Demand for passenger traffic was 4.1% above the level of September 2011. For air cargo, demand growth was even weaker at 0.6%. Read more
