EGF Recognizes UAE National Team’s Accomplishments

On April 29, 2017 the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) hosted the final United Arab Emirates (UAE) National Monthly Medal of the 2016 – 2017 golf season at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. Over 40 Emiratis gathered at the iconic Dubai Creek Golf Club for a day of golf and socializing. Winning the overall Stableford Prize was Jamal Bin Marghoob. The EGF also took time out to recognize the UAE National Team winners from the 2016 – 2017 golf season.

As the season is quickly coming to an end and the temperatures are rising, the EGF was proud to host the largest National Monthly Medal of the 2016 – 2017 season. With “The Creek” in prime condition and the greens running fast, the course was ready for some great scores.

The UAE National Monthly Medals are run on a Stableford format. With an impressive score of 34 points, Jamal Bin Marghoob came out on top as the Overall Winner. Right on Jamal’s heels and finishing as the Runner-Up with 32 points was Daood Jaffal.

Winning the Best Gross prize was National Team Player, Khalid Yousuf. Yousuf shot a round of 5-over-par 76.

Awards were also given based on handicap with an A-Division (0-14 handicap) and B-Division (14-24 handicap) winners. Winning the A-Division Prize was Khalid Al Halyan with 30 Stableford points. Akram Skaik won the Division-B prize with 30 Stableford points.

The event also hosted a Junior Division, winning the top prize in the Junior Division was Reema Al Heloo with 33 points.

During the event there were a number of On Course Challenges up for grabs. Taking home the Adult Longest Drive Award was Khalid Yousuf. Winning the Adult Nearest to the Pin Award was Abdulhamid Nassouri. Wrapping up the On Course Challenges, Reema Al Heloo won the Junior Longest Drive Award and Alia Al Emadi won the Junior Nearest to the Pin Award.

Due to being the last National Medal of the season, the EGF took time out at the award presentation to give recognition to the UAE National Teams’ accomplishments over the past 6 months. The EGF gave gifts to the following team. The National Senior Team for winning Bronze in the 2017 GCC Golf Championship while Ahmed Skaik won Gold in the Individual Category. The National Ladies Team won Gold in the 2017 GCC Golf Championship, lead by Tara Al Marzooqi winning the Gold in the Individual Category. Lastly, the 15 & Under National Team won Gold at the 2017 GCC Golf Championship with Rashid Al Emadi winning Gold in the Individual Category.
