As the rise in demand for experiential travel sees more travellers look for enriching, authentic opportunities to immerse in destinations around the world, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts continues to add to its collection of ‘Extraordinary Experiences’ – a programme that began in 2015 with the ultimate luxury travel experience, the Four Seasons Private Jet. In keeping with discerning guests’ desire for inspiring adventures in true Four Seasons luxury, hotels in Dubai, Riyadh, Hualalai, Tokyo, Koh Samui and Cap-Ferrat are launching brand new Extraordinary Experiences.
The Extraordinary Experiences are a tailored range of world-class experiences that enable access to local culture and provide once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to understand and discover a destination. From commissioning a completely personalized piece of art and fashion from a sought-after local label in Dubai, to a private dinner for two in the sparkling Sky Bridge on the 99th floor of Riyadh’s iconic Kingdom Centre, and trekking with a Four Seasons Volcano Ambassador in Hawaii – these unforgettable moments offer a new and vibrant lens through which to understand a Four Seasons destination.

The journey begins with a one-to-one session with Zena to discuss every detail of the piece, from style and cut, to fit and fabric. Fashion Memories will be available to book from July 2017.

Ultimate Pop-Up Volcano Adventure with Four Seasons Resort Hualala
This magical adventure begins with a guided hike to Kamokuna, the point inside Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park where more than a million gallons of lava flow into the ocean every hour. One of the world’s leading volcanologists will join the group after the hike for the next leg of the trip over Kilauea Volcano, one of the youngest and most active volcanoes in the world. From up to 5,000 feet above ground level, guests will see lava actively flowing and hear stories about how this volcano has affected life in the area. Thereafter, guests will meet their dedicated Four Seasons Volcano Ambassador, who will chauffeur them to the Four Seasons Rainforest Cottage Hideaway, where they can look forward to sipping handcrafted premium beverages while enjoying a pre-dinner show of live Hawaiian music and hula dancing. Guests will wrap up the evening with a night visit to the Kilauea Caldera Overlook with their Volcano Ambassador to witness the volcano’s glowing lava against the dark backdrop of volcanic rock fields. This Extraordinary Experience for up to four people is available throughout 2017 only.
Sumo and Sightseeing in Tokyo with Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi
Guests can immerse themselves in the best of Japanese entertainment, culture and food during this full-day insider tour through Tokyo. First, they will discover the secrets of sumo with private access into a “stable” where wrestlers eat, sleep and train, and observe the rituals and traditions of the sport during a morning practice session. Afterwards, in a dining room inside the stable, they will enjoy an authentic chanko nabe (hot pot) breakfast alongside the athletes.
Afterwards, guests will unwind with a private experience at a sento, a Japanese-style bath. Next, they will embark on a Tokyo sightseeing tour to explore quaint Yanaka, the oldest, most traditional area of the city, before breaking for a Wagyu steak lunch at one of the longest-standing Japanese restaurants, Asakusa Imahan. In the evening, guests will board a private yakatabune (traditional houseboat) for a cruise through the illuminated Tokyo Bay and a meal of tempura and sashimi before returning to the Hotel in a rickshaw.
This Extraordinary Experience includes a two-night stay in a one-bedroom suite or above and will be available from April 2017. Booking is required at least 45 days in advance.

Back on board, guests will savour a lunch prepared by their own private Four Seasons chef on the spacious sundeck while surrounded by pristine scenery. In the evening, they can look forward to sipping tropical beverages as they watch the sunset from a private beach, where they will be treated to a Four Seasons chef-prepared barbecue and a bonfire setting. Afterwards, they will have the opportunity to stargaze in seclusion on deck before retiring to one of the boat’s luxurious staterooms.
