A brand new Xbox One promotion was just launched on Amazon, offering two free video games with the purchase of selected Xbox One bundles. But before you click the “Proceed to Checkout” button, take a minute to compare the bundles with these included in the Xbox One promotion at the Microsoft Store, where the additional free games are three instead of two.
The prices of the bundles are fixed at $349 for 500GB and $399 for 1TB, but the final purchase decision comes to the selection of the games. At Amazon the first game is pre-selected – Mad Max, while you can choose the second one from a selection of three games only. On the other hand, Microsoft offers three free games with the purchase of an Xbox One bundle. One of them is Assassin’s Creed Unity and the other two games are for you to choose from a larger variety.
It seems that during the 2015 holiday season the Xbox One promotions on bundles and gaming consoles will differ only by the number of offered free games and their titles. The explanation for retailers’ choice of promotional strategy is pretty simple. 2015’s holiday season will see the richest variety of new blockbuster video games, most of which are expected to become instant hits. Halo 5 and Black Ops 3 are already available in stores, while Fallout 4 and Tomb Raider are set for launch on the 10th of November.
