Dubai Turns into Global Music Hotspot This April

If you are true music fan at heart and you have appreciation for today’s big names in music, you should spend this April in Dubai. The emirate will turn into a true global music hotspot for four full weeks, welcoming performers like Robin Thicke, One Direction, John Newman, Jessie Ware and many more!  Check out Dubai’s music calendar for April and plan your month in advance!

April 2 – John Newman

UK singer John Newman will make a comeback in Dubai on the second day of April. Newman will perform at Meet d3 organized at Dubai Design District. Moreover, the Dubai concert of Love Me Again signer will be free! In a recent interview, the John Newman described his previous concert in the emirate as a “brilliant experience.”

April 4 – One Direction

one-direction--zOne Direction will perform their first ever show in the Middle East in Dubai on April 4 (Saturday). Unfortunately, after the news that Zayn Malik is leaving the band, fans will get a four-piece gig with Harry, Louis, Liam and Niall. Still, the concert promises to be exciting, since the band is one of the most successful UK music acts. One Direction’s third album, “Midnight Memories” was the best-selling album worldwide in 2013 even though it was release in late-November. The show will take place at The Sevens Stadium. If you still have not purchased your tickets for it, you will be sad to hear they were sold out.

April 10 – 30 Seconds to Mars

Less than a week after One Direction’s first concert in Dubai, American rock band 30 Seconds to Mars will also perform. Back in 2013, 30 Seconds stopped by Dubai after a concert in Abu Dhabi, but they did not perform in the emirate. Now will be the first time when Dubai-based fans of the group will be able to watch it live. Tickets for the show start at AED 295. The gig will be organized at the Dubai World Trade Centre alongside Comic Con 2015 and the Middle East Film.

April 10 – Paolo Nutini

If you are fan of both 30 Second and Paolo Nutini you may feel very torn on April 10 (Friday), since they will both have concerts in Dubai on this day. Nutini’s show will be held at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre and tickets for its start at AED 350. However, early bird can purchase them for AED 295. The young singer of Italian descent is considered to be Scotland’s most successful musician at the moment.

April 17 – Joseph Lendvay and Friends

Lendvay is one of today’s most popular and talented violinists as part of the World Classical Music Series 2015. He will perform together with the Lendvay and Friends ensemble at The One and Only Royal Mirage Hotel on April 17 (Friday). The concert will offer fans various musical genres – from classical to folk.

April 18 – MANIK and My Favorite Robot

Electronic music fans will get a huge musical treat on April 18 (Saturday). Artists MANIK and My Favorite Robot will perform in Dubai at the family-friendly Piknic Electronik festival. The event will start 1 p.m. and it will continue until 10 p.m., at Dubai Sports City. Other musicians that will also take the stage include Arcade 82, Toyboys and Josephine de Retour. The festival will return on May 9 with names like Patrice Baumel and Fairmont Live.

April 30 – Robin Thicke, Craig David, Jessie Ware, Kasabian, Kool & The Gang, Nico & Vinz

This music-filled month will wrap up with the Blended music festival. The second edition of the event will feature an entire stardom of musicians and a mixture of genres like soul, reggae, rock, disco and funk. Among the artists that will have a gig at the festival are “Blurred Lines’ singer Robin Thicke and U.K.’s Craig David and Jessie Ware. Kool & The Gang will offer fans some of their classic hits, while Kasabians will be the main rock act at the festival. The event will be closed by newcomers Nico & Vinz on May 1. Blended 2015 will take place at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre with tickets starting at AED 395 and reaching up to AED 1,395.
