Just in time for Black Friday 2014, Amazon introduced a new way for online shopping – shopping through a smartwatch. Owners of Android Wear devices, like Moto 360, Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch, can now access Amazon.com and make purchases directly from their wrist. One may wonder if there are that many spending obsessed, time-constrained, convenience seeking consumers…

This new method for shopping became possible after Amazon updated its Android application. However, for now, the new options will be available only in the U.S. and on device that rely on Android 4.3 and above, including Android Lollipop, through an Android Wear watch.

To open the app, consumers only need to say “OK, Google” and then “Start Amazon.” After that, they can say what product they are searching for and get a list of results through which they can quickly swipe.

For now, users are not able to sort the search results they get by consumer ratings, price or brands is it is on Amazon’s website or tablet and smartphone apps. Nevertheless, Amazon’s updated app enables consumers to shop easily and quickly through their smartwatch. In fact, users can enable the one-click shopping option supported by the application. In that way, they will directly purchase products without having to use their smartphone.

Amazon’s Android Wear app also offers another shopping option that allows consumers to review a product in detail on their smart mobile phone and then to decide whether they want to order it or not.

With the application, shoppers can also edit and manage their Amazon wish list. Again, all of that can be done through simple voice commands.

This is probably part of Amazon.com Black Friday preparation. Last month, the company announced a series of new features and services across various devices. For instance, the retailer decided to introduce voice and visual search, which will allow mobile users to find the items they need faster than ever. In addition, Amazon increased its same-day delivery scope and enables consumers to add items from Amazon.com to their cart or wish list via Twitter.
