Burj Khalifa is well known for its record-breaking qualities. But just when it seemed that the world’s tallest tower had broken all skyscraper records, it did it again. The Guinness Book of World Records officially confirmed that Dubai’s Burj Khalifa has the highest observation deck in the world.

Guinness Book representatives confirmed that Burj Khalifa’s observation deck, called “At The Top, Burj Khalifa Sky,” is indeed the highest on the planet. This is the tower’s new deck with has an impressive height of exactly 555 meters. It is situated on the 148th floor of the famous skyscraper. Burj Khalifa’s new deck is higher even than the previous record holder Guangzhou’s The Canton Tower (488 meters).

The building has another, older observation deck named “At The Top.” However, it is located at the 124th floor and its height is barely 425 meters, which was not enough to find a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. Still, “At The Top” was, until recently, the third highest observation deck in the world. Well, now it will become the fourth, with the rise of its neighbour “At The Top, Burj Khalifa Sky.”

In addition, the new observation deck of the world’s tallest tower will also enable it to break one more record – the first skyscraper with two observation decks.
Other records of which Burj Khalifa is a holder include:

  • Tallest building in the world (828 meters)
  • Tallest man-made structure on land ever
  • Most floors in a building (160 floors)
  • Tallest elevator in a building (504 meters)
  • Elevator with the longest travel distance in the world
  • Highest occupied floor in the world
  • Highest restaurant from ground level
  • Highest residential apartment (385 meters)

Burj Khalifa is also part of a few other Guinness Records. Back in 2011, the “French Spider-Man” Alain Robert broke the record for Fastest time to climb Burj Khalifa unassisted. He climbed the world’s tallest tower for 6 hours 13 minutes and 55 seconds all alone. Also, this year, Vince Reffet and Fred Fugen, again from France, made the highest base jump from a building after they took a dive from Burj Khalifa’s top.
