The latest edition of Eid in Dubai will kick off shortly before Eid Al Fitr (Read more: When will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr). After the quietness, which is traditionally associated with the month of Ramadan, Eid in Dubai will offer a variety of amazing family event, music concerts and countless promotions.[wpsr_facebook]
This year, Eid in Dubai will host family-friendly events than ever. Modhesh World, which will host two major events. The first of them will be the Angry Birds Universe, which will start on 28 July and will continue until 8 September. Basically, it will be an interactive experience inspired by the popular game and it will offer a lot of fun and entertainment for people of all ages. Entrance fees for Angry Birds Universe will vary between AED 10-15.
A few days, later, Modhesh World will present the Transformers Live Show – World Premiere. The event will be free for everyone who wish to enjoy it and it will coincide with the UAE premiere of the new Transformers movie.
Another family-oriented show will be Hello Kitty’s 40th Anniversary which will start on 29 July and it will it will run through 4 August. It will include lots of music, costumes, dancing and laughter – all the necessary ingredients for a good birthday party. Admission of the event will be free which makes it even more attractive for visitors.
Tradition Has It…
Eid in Dubai is one of the most successful events in Dubai and as such it has established a few traditions of its own. The most spectacular of them is the Eid Fireworks show. It will take place every day between 28 July and 1 August at 8 p.m. at the Dubai Creek. Dubai’s night sky will be brightened by fireworks which will be accompanied by music and sound effects. The fireworks show is created by some of the best pyrotechnitians in the world. Therefore, it is a sight that should not be missed.
Another tradition during Eid in Dubai and Eid Al Fitr is Dhiyafat Al Eid. As part of this campaign, guests of the city will be welcomed with traditional sweets and Arabic coffee in various locations across Dubai, including the Dubai International Airport and select shopping malls. This hospitality initiative will start on 27 July and it will end on 1 August.
During the Eid, the music of Bollywood will make its way to Dubai. The popular duo Salim-Sulaiman will perform live at Hall 2, Dubai World Trade Centre on 31 July. The duo is most famous for composing the music for hit Bollywood movies like “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” and “Fashion.” However, their resume covers over 100 films. Tickets for the show start at AED 145 and reach up to AED 695.
Sales and Promotions
Of course, Eid in Dubai would not be the same without the generous promotions and giveaways. It is reported that during this edition of the event dozens of malls and thousands of retail outlets across Dubai will participate in the Eid sales and raffles. Discounts will often reach up to 75% and will cover all sorts of products, including clothing, shoes, accessories, vehicles, cosmetics, watches, perfumes and others. About AED 1.5 million will be given away to shoppers in cash and about AED 525,000 will be given away in the form of shopping vouchers. In addition to that, couples will get the chance to win special travel packages.
