Katy Perry closed out the MTV Video Music Awards with a memorable and provocative performance of her latest single “Roar” which will be on her upcoming album “Prism”. Earlier on Sunday evening, the pop star stunned the audience appearing on the red carpet in a sexy leopard print dress paired with simpler high heels in black.

Katy Perry gave the first live performance of the already became a mega-hit “Roar” under the Brooklyn Bridge for the finale of the 2013 VMAs. The stage was specially set up like a boxing ring and decorated with a gold tiger and a gold lion head. Of course, the singer was dressed like a fighter – boxing shorts with a flame print, an animal print sports bra, sparkling gloves and gold boots. Dancing all over the set with the dancers behind her, Perry showed off amazing figure and great shape while making her fans screaming before the stage. She was indeed in a fighting mood and definitely knocked out all competition, at least considering the hit single “Roar”. With more than 555,000 digital downloads in the first week after its release, the song became the best-selling single of her career so far. Although released at almost the same time, “Roar” and Lady Gaga’s “Applause” scored very differently – during the same week, “Applause” sold only 218,000 copies. Currently both singles are available for download on App Store where fans can also pre-order the albums.

Other live performances on MTV’s Video Music Awards included Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, N’Sync, and Macklemore. They all entertained the fans from the stage inside the Barclay’s Center where the event took place. One of the most memorable performances of the night was that of Miley Cyrus with her latest song “We Can’t Stop” which is the first single off her upcoming album “Banderz”. Probably her fans couldn’t wait to see her live after the super-popular video of “We Can’t Stop”. Many others, including some of the stars, however admitted that the ex-child star’s performance was hyper-sexual, more than outrageous, offensive, and childhood-ruining.
