More and more sources report that Apple will launch two next-generation iPhones in September. Latest details on the story even point out a specific date – September 20.
The news was shared on Japanese Nikkei website. According to it, next month Apple will release two new iPhones – 5S and 5C. The site adds that local carriers, KDDI and SoftBank, will start shipping the two devices on September 20.
This information is quite similar to that shared in a recent report by AllThings. The website stated that Apple will introduce its smartphones at a big event on September 10 and later release them officially on September 20. The Wall Street Journal, on the other hand, revealed that Foxconn is preparing to start shipping the devices at the beginning of the next month.
If this is true, it means that Apple will stick a strategy quite similar to those seen over the last few years. In 2012, for example, the US company launched iPhone 5 on September 21, or the third Friday of the month (just like this year’s September 20). It is expected that Apple will initially release its iPhones in a few countries. Their number will, however, quickly increase by the end of the month.
As it was already mentioned, the names of the two new Apple smartphones will most likely be iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. The 5S edition will be an improved version of iPhone 5. It is rumoured to have a better camera with a dual-LED flash, more powerful processor, gold colour option, as well as an innovative fingerprint scanner.
Apple’s second iPhone for the year, 5C, is seen as a low-cost edition. Nevertheless, it predicted price of $400 puts in it the category of midrange smartphones. iPhone 5C is not likely to impress with its features or performance. However, it will probably be available in different colours.
