His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, issued a decree restructuring ADU Board of Trustees under his presidency. The Board includes in its members, H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, as vice president of the ADU’s Board of Trustees, H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, H.E. Humaid Mohammed Al Qutami, Minister of Education, H.E. Dr. Maitha Al-Shamsi, Minister of State, H.E. Mohammed Ahmad Al Bawardi, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, H.E. Nasser Ahmad Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Department of Economic Development, H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Al Humairi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Saeed Eid Al Ghafli, Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Ahmad Ali Al Sayegh, Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor in the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Mohammed bin Shlaiwih alkubaisi, Khadeem Abdullah Al Draei, Abdulhamid Saeed, Dhafer Sahmi Al Ahbabi, Qusai Mohammed Al-Ghussein, Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri the ADU Chairman of the Executive Board and Prof. Nabil Ibrahim, Chancellor of ADU.

On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, President of ADU’s Board of Trustees, praised the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE -May Allah Protect him-, his brother H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President & Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and his brothers Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Education Council for the cultural renaissance being experienced by the UAE in all fields, particularly in education.

His Highness stressed that education will remain as the best investment in building nations as we have learned from the late father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may his soul rest in peace). The renaissance and development of this nation has been driven by keenness towards education and employment of resources and capabilities in building educated generations who are able to keep pace with the scientific developments being witnessed in our time.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his pride in the leading national role taken by ADU as a national academic institution reaching from the UAE towards different people worldwide as a bridge for cultural communication where it transfers the values and celebrated traditions of the UAE’s society. It also fosters through its scientific and intellectual role the environment of creativity that is being witnessed in Abu Dhabi Emirate and the UAE. His Highness stressed that Abu Dhabi University, since its inception a decade ago, has been successful in achieving its mission to be a beacon of science and knowledge that prepares students who are proud of their values and Arab and Islamic identity yet open at the same time to all the developments that the world witnesses in various fields of science and knowledge.

High Highness affirmed the importance of the Board of Trustees’ role in realizing the mission of Abu Dhabi University as a leading national institution through its offered academic programs and educational and community initiatives, pointing out the importance of the board’s efforts as it consists of elite officials from different developmental sectors which enhances the strategic partnership between the university and society and opens wide horizons for cooperation in implementing Abu Dhabi University’s strategy, developing its academic journey and catering to the needs of labor market in the UAE through the “Tamkeen” strategy of the wise government and derived by the public policy agenda for the Government of Abu Dhabi and its economic vision 2030 and related programs offered by the university to prepare highly qualified and specialized cadres and enables them to meet the requirements of knowledge-based economy.
