In 2012, the UAE achieved another milestone by being ranked the 1st in regional cyber security through the initiatives of the TRA. However the corporate world is not far behind in its constant vigilance, spending and upgrading its resources be it infrastructure, systems or personnel.
Indeed if the recent events of the past couple of years where hackers have wrecked havoc on oil and gas, finance, telecom and other sectors is any indication, this is a field that is bound to keep expanding as fast as the threats surmount.
Banks, energy companies and public infrastructure are particularly vulnerable due to the security architecture used to create the defense systems therein.
What therefore is the way forward for the region and how does the region cope with future challenges and dangers ever lurking in the murky and lawless region and cyber space.
The 3rd Annual Cyber Security Summit on April 29th, 30th 2013 being held at Fairmont, Dubai will address such issues and various others thanks to its prestigious speaker panel many of whom are seasoned and decorated veterans in this battlefield.

The forum also features a hands on workshop by Mr. Sherif Hazzaa of ISnSC (Essence) who is a world renowned cyber defense consultant who will provide his inside knowledge by conducting online (ethical) hacking sessions.
ISACA also has representation on the speaker panel in Mr. Hariprasad Chede, CISO of National Bank of Fujairah who is a director of ISACA.
The academic field will be represent by Dr. Fadi Aloul , Associate Professor of Computer at the American University of Sharjah, renowned consultant and speaker in various aspects of this field.
