Windows 8 available for per-order at Microsoft store
Microsoft finally announced the release date of its long-anticipated Windows 8. The company said it plans to launch the new computer operating system on October 26. The Windows 8 can be used for desktop computers, laptops, home theater PCs and tablets.
Versions

Like previous Microsoft operating systems, the new Windows will come in two main versions – a regular Windows 8 edition and a business-oriented Microsoft Windows 8 Pro
edition. The simple version will contain the most popular features of the Microsoft’s OS like VPN Client and Remote Desktop. This edition was made for home use. Windows 8 Pro, on the other hand, will target business users and more advances computer enthusiasts. It will include all the main features of the regular Windows 8. However, it will also have some additional functions like PC virtualization, BitLocker encryption, PC management and domain connectivity.
Big Ad Campaign
It seems that Microsoft is quite confident in the success of its new product. Forbes reported that the company plans to invest nearly $1.8 billion only in the Widows 8 marketing campaign. Moreover, Microsoft already launched a few commercials promoting the new operating systems. The company has decided to use the long-standing credibility of their product since one of the TV spots for Windows 8 reminds of an old ad for Windows 95. The commercial wraps up with the original motto “Windows Reimagined”.
What’s New?
The new Windows 8 operating system has awoken some excitement in computer users from all over the world. However, there are some who are skeptical about the improvement of Microsoft operating system. So, naturally, a question arises: How is Windows 8 better that Windows 7?

For a start, edition number 8 will include Xbox Music. This is Microsoft new alternative to Apple’s iTunes. With Xbox Music users will be able to download their favourite music files. In addition, this new feature has an amazing app which allows video and music streaming.
The second big thing about Windows 8 is that it can run on various platforms. You can install it on your PC, laptop and even your tablet.
Another thing you should know about the new operating system is that it will have the so-called “live tile” homepage where you can get all your updates in real time. You will receive a notification every time someone sends you an email or a message to your social network profile.
Other Upcoming Microsoft Products
Apart from Windows 8, Microsoft Corp plan to also release its Windows Phone 8. That, however, will happen on October 29, a few days after the launch of the new operating system. For now Microsoft has not mentioned anything about its Surface tablet, which was expected to be released together with Windows 8.
