How to Avoid Kate Middleton’s Example and Keep the In-Laws Happy
You have probably heard about the latest scandal around the British Royal Family. The big surprise was that this time it wasn’t Prince Harry who shocked the public, but the honorable Kate Middleton.
When the paparazzi managed to take a few blurry snaps of the topless Duchess, who was blissfully sunbathing and vacating with noble hubby Prince William near France, media all over the world went crazy. Most of the British newspapers decided not to publish the photos out of respect to the Royal Family, but the French and the Italian press was not so concerned about the privacy of the royal lovebirds and showed the topless future queen to the world. The result of that was legal action after legal action.
But what about the Royal Fam? What did they thought about the scandal? More importantly, how did Her Majesty the Queen react to that?
Well, of course, officials from the Buckingham Palace informed that the Queen and Prince Charles were upset from the paparazzi’s disrespectful behavior. That is understandable, since it was the curious photographers who caused Princes Diana’s car crash 15 years ago.
However, other sources claim that the British Royal Family was not happy with Kate’s actions. Moreover, they feared that the young Duchess may get out of control and further spoil the image of the Royal Fam. Media observers comment that some of the more distant royal members think that Middleton might even prove a bad influence for well-behaved Prince William.
So, Ladies as you can see, one bad move and you turn into a black sheep for your hubby’s family. However, as you might be aware, part of your relationship with your husband depends on his family’s approval of you. Therefore, it is important to maintain a spotless image for your in-laws.
How to do that? Here are some basic tips and advices:
Be careful with the outfits and the makeup you wear
Do not put heavy makeup. Often it can give the impression that you are shallow. It is better to stick to natural beauty. However, keep in mind that “natural” doesn’t mean negligent! Maintain a neat appearance. It terms of the clothes – again keep it clean and neat. Dress a little casual, but add some chic to it too. Also, do not cover yourself in jewelry. After all, Christmas is still a few months away!
Watch your manners
No foul language! Always greet, say “Thank you”, “please” and all other “good” words and phrases. If you disagree or you don’t like something that the in-laws say to you, then better bite your tongue. Later you can always call a girlfriend or two and let it all out. Top tip: Write it on a paper and burn it out!
Don’t drink… too much
There will be many holidays and family reunions where drinks will be abundant. However, don’t get seduced by it. Drink slowly and count your sips. Then burn the drinks in your body on the dance floor (if there is such, of course).
Get off your throne
Even if you are the head of your relationship, don’t show it to your hubby’s family. Give up your throne for a while, then at home take back your control.
Don’t get too intimate
It is good to show your affection to your partner. However, restrain doing that when you are surrounded by his family. Too much kissing and touching may be inappropriate and it may annoy them.
Oh, we almost forgot – try not to walk around topless!
