The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage, is supporting the first Emirati Tweeps Gathering organised by Al Mizmah Centre for Research and Studies.
The first-of-its-kind social media event in the UAE, the inaugural Emirati Tweeps Gathering will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Dubai Public Library – Al Twar branch, at 7:30pm.
During the course of the evening, a host of speakers will discuss the impact that social networking sites, specifically Twitter, has had on the region. Additionally, the gathering will also reflect on Twitter’s role in the news circuit and the challenges that the Middle East faces in this field.
Held in Arabic under the title ‘Reality and Reflections of 140 Characters,’ the event will also comprise interactive workshops and audience engagement forums.
The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority leverages culture, heritage, and its array of art initiatives through its significant presence across various social media platforms. Through this cutting edge technology, the Authority further engages community members and drives interactions within the arts community.
