Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman Ministries of Education, and the Arab Bureau of the Gulf States, at the exhibition with fully dedicated pavilions

Global leaders in the educational supply market, including Pearson, Promethean, Samsung, Yas Marina Circuit and Core Education, to present their latest technologies and solutions

More than 250 companies will be present this year at GESS, the Gulf Educational Supplies & Solution exhibition, running from February 28th to March 1st 2012 for the first time at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The show, organized by F&E Education with the support of the UAE Ministry of Education, will be presenting the world’s most innovative technologies for the education sector.

Global leaders Pearson, Promethean, Samsung, Yas Marina Circuit, Core Education, Kidz Inc Dubai, Elmo and SICO are among those showcasing their range of products during the three day exhibition.

In addition to international leading companies in the education market, different GCC governmental institutions will have their stands at the show to present their programs and projects. As well as Ministries of Education of four GCC countries – UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman –  the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) will be at the show with a bigger pavilion compared to the 2011 edition.

“The exhibition is the leading education event for the Middle East region. We have a 7.5% increase in the number of exhibitors in 2012; also the number of countries represented in the show has risen; this year we have exhibitors and delegates coming from 30 different nations. As well as the UAE Ministry of Education, our partner for the event, for the first time we can even list three other GCC Education Ministries outside the UAE – Oman, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia – among exhibitors. Their presence attests that GESS has become an event attracting the interest of the education market’s players from the whole Gulf region” commented Matt Thompson, Project Director of GESS.

“Teaching and Learning in the Knowledge and Technology Era” is the theme for the fifth edition of the GESS exhibition and the Global Education Forum (GEF) which will be running alongside. Both the exhibition and the forum are focusing on technological evolution in the education sector, presenting the most innovative solutions from global market leaders and showing best practices in technological innovation in the education sector.

To demonstrate a smart and dynamic digital learning environment, Samsung will be displaying its host of products in a modern school-like setting. Products on display will include the Samsung GALAXY Tabs range, notebooks, Interactive E-Board, Video Wall, Digital Signage Solutions and the next generation Samsung SUR40 for Microsoft Surface.

Commenting on the company’s participation at GESS 2012 Madhav Narayan, Regional Director, GCC, Enterprise Business at Samsung Gulf Electronics, said: “Gulf Educational Supplies & Solutions plays a vital role in bringing together educators and educational solutions providers from across the region under one roof and we are proud to be associated with it. At the event, Samsung will be showcasing its wide range of innovative products that encourage an intuitive and superior digital learning environment amongst educational institutions”.

F1 in Schools will also be back at GESS. F1 in Schools is an international competition that challenges teams of school students to set up their own Formula 1™ team and run it as a mini-enterprise project. The students are responsible for managing budgets, marketing and branding, sourcing sponsorship and designing, manufacturing and racing a miniature gas-powered balsa-wood Formula 1™ car. The UAE programme is based at Yas Marina Circuit’s F1 in Schools Centre of Excellence, which can be used as a learning resource by participating teams/teachers and also hired as a competition venue for internal school competitions.

Other exhibitors taking part in the region’s leading education event include CORE Education and Technologies Limited, India’s largest global education company which provides transformational and innovative solutions for the entire education continuum of K-12, Higher education and Vocational education. “CORE seeks to form long term associations with government organisations across the world and believes that GESS is a wonderful platform to showcase CORE’s transformational education products and services in K-12, Higher Education and Skill Development to the knowledge fraternity in GCC”, commented Mr. Sanjeev Mansotra, Chairman and Group CEO, CORE Education and Technologies Ltd, who will be at the show to launch its Middle East operations.
