The Who’s Who of the corporate and political arena from across India, the Gulf and South-East Asia are set to gather at the inaugural Asian Business Leadership Forum Awards on Monday, October 3 2011, held at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi, India to celebrate and salute the Rise of Asia in the global business landscape.
The ABLF Awards, which will be an annual affair, will focus this year on three key business sectors: Industry, Infrastructure and Energy with participation from India; the UAE and Oman from the Gulf; and Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore from South-East Asia. Thirteen outstanding business leaders from across the three sectors of focus will be honoured and felicitated for their exemplary contribution to the spirit of enterprise.
The Adani Group, an Indian conglomerate with global interests in Infrastructure, Energy, Mining, Ports, Shipping and Agri-trade, and DLF Limited, India’s largest real estate and urban development group, are presenting the Awards.
Commenting on the ABLF Awards, His Highness, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the visionary Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group says, “As a modern-day centre for logistical activity, Dubai has touched the heights of business excellence on a global scale. Accompanied by advancements in infrastructure and industry, the UAE continues to strive further and test its limit. With its existing infrastructure of ports and airports, Dubai is the new centre of the world. I am very glad that the UAE is participating at the Asian Business Leadership Forum Awards, an event that celebrates Asia as a whole.”
According to the organisers, an international nomination campaign saw over 3,000 nominations from the Gulf, India and South-East Asian regions on the ABLF Awards Web site (www.ablfawards.com). The ABLF Team and the Grand Jury – a high profile group of eminent personalities with representation from the world of finance, diplomacy and academia as well as political, economic and legal commentators from across Asia – determine the winners for each category.
Union Cabinet Minister of Urban Development, GOI, H. E. Mr Kamal Nath says, “Events like the ABLF Awards are important because they support the opportunity of engagement between the Asian countries. The Gulf, India and South-East Asia are amongst the fastest growing regions in the world and I am sure that this event will engage the best entrepreneurial minds and business talent from the regions.”
Each of the Award recipients will be presented with the ABLF Awards Trophy, a 13 inch, 22 carat gold plated masterpiece. Intricate embossed features and a traditional silhouette proudly symbolise the trophy’s Asian origins, while the stunning gold façade epitomises the intrinsic prosperity and stability in the ABLF constituencies of the Gulf, India and South-East Asia. Signature precious gemstones embedded in the trophy reflect their singular and inherent metaphysical value on each unique award category.
His Highness Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, says, “The ABLF Awards provides a platform for the UAE to showcase its strengths and forge new relationships with our Asian friends and I am very happy that the UAE is being represented at such an important event. I fully support the premise of the Asian Business Leadership Forum. The growing stature of the Asian economies has major global ramifications and holds great potential. Asia is becoming a major global source of innovation and development. The continent is emerging as the new epicentre of global economic and business activities. The ABLF Awards 2011 platform gives credence where it is due, to the top leaders of current business affairs across the Asian continent.”
