Summer is heating up, but for many the family holiday is still weeks away – luckily, two state of the art nurseries, Child’s Play and Small World, have come to the rescue for Dubai parents with their adventurous themed summer camp, “Fun Around the World”.

Your child’s passport to a fun and cultural summer camp, the program will run from Sunday 3rd July though to Thursday 28th July and is guaranteed to excite, educate and fascinate the little ones, while providing some welcome relief for parents during the scorching summer months.

With a wealth of nationalities welcomed at both nurseries, including children from the UK, Brazil, Angola, Australia France, India, Italy and Ukraine, the unique summer camp aims to encourage young ones growing up in a cosmopolitan city like Dubai to experience the different traditions, cuisine and cultures from all over the world.

As part of a structured daily camp programme, children will be kept laughing and learning with a line-up of activities that include; cooking classes, arts and crafts, music and movement, physical activities, including swimming and day trips with the added excitement of competitions and prizes.

Anne Turner, Head of Child’s Play and Small World Nurseries said: “We are very excited about the upcoming summer camp, which is another example of how we implement learning through creative activities, play and discovery. Our objective for the nurseries is to prepare our children for the future, primarily the next stage being school admission.”

Small World Nurseries was launched in 1988 and following its success Child’s Play opened in 2005, both nurseries’ core curriculum is the UK National Curriculum Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS); this is enhanced by the inclusion of good practice from the Scottish Curriculum, A Curriculum for Excellence and additional renowned international practices.

The nurseries are also home to the Scottish initiative Snack Café that has been introduced to both nurseries giving children the flexibility to choose from a selection of healthy food throughout the day.

The nurseries incorporate learning programmes that are based on the children’s needs, using small teaching groups; child ratios as stated by Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS); offering one-on-one attention to each child that enables our excellent staff to observe each child and plan the required next steps. Arabic is offered to all children.

“Our children are involved as much as possible in planning topics and are encouraged to make choices as well as pursuing their own interests, which inevitably leads to increased confidence. Children come to us from as young as 11 months, as long as they are walking independently, until foundation stage 1 (fs1). The formative years are crucial to the development of the child,” concluded Turner.

The Child’s Play and Small World Nurseries Summer Camp runs from Sunday July 3rd through to Thursday 28th July and the autumn term commences on Wednesday, September 7th for new enrollments and Thursday 8th September for returning students.
