2011 Arab Woman of the Year Awards

For the third successive year, LâOfficiel, the region’s leading luxury fashion magazine for women, is presenting the 2011 Arab Woman of the Year Awards to pay tribute to inspirational Arab women in the United Arab Emirates.

The prestigious event celebrates the achievements of remarkable women who have excelled in the arts, business, fashion and charity fields, and once again pays homage to these aspiring personalities who, through their outstanding determination and self dedication, have significantly influenced society setting a pivotal example for younger generations throughout the UAE.

Esteemed panelists and distinguished guests will gather at the glamorous Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Abu Dhabi on the evening of Wednesday 18th May in honor and recognition of the nominees and their valued contributions to the community.

High profile candidates for nomination are currently being reviewed by a select panel of expert judges led by L’Officiel Editor Nadine El Chaer.

The 2011 Arab Woman of the Year Awards is sponsored by Clarins, a major player in the Beauty sector today, enjoying an international presence in all segments of the cosmetics market. Clarins is committed to making the world a better place to live through social responsibility projects, environmental preservation, and medical research, taking leadership in setting an example for others to follow.

In 2010, the winners of the Arab Woman of the Year Awards included Fatima Al Jaber, COO & Executive Director of Al Jaber Group, for the Business Woman of the Year Award; Alia Al Neyadi for the Special Talent Award and the MBC presenter, Joëlle Mardinian for the Beauty Award. The ultimate award for the Lâ’Officiel Most Inspirational Arab Woman of the Year was presented to Hoda Ibrahim Al Khamis Kanoo, a founding member of the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation.
