Twitter has reached nearly 200 million users registered accounts who post 110 million tweets per day as of the January 1, 2011, according Twitter’s spokesperson. That’s up from 160 million registered accounts as of September 2010 and 95 million tweets per day as of early December, and indicates steady growth. That’s why the company is now focused on building out its international presence.

Twitter said on Tuesday on its blog that it had launched its service in Korean, its seventh language to date. But even more interestingly, Twitter co-founder Evan Williams also visited Seoul and held a press conference on Wednesday to talk about the recent launch. Twitter is already available in Japanese, and popular in that country. Adding another highly networked country like South Korea will be good for the service, especially as a potential test bed for new features or usage patterns — since Asians use social networks differently from North Americans.
