Mauritius Welcomes Eid Al Adha
The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority and all of the Mauritian people would like to wish you a blessed Eid Al Adha, and invite you and your families to celebrate the festivities of Eid on the Island.
Mauritius is proud of its multi-cultural and multi-religious population who live together in peace and harmony celebrating all religions, and Eid al Adha is no different.
Dr Karl Mootoosamy, Director General of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority comments “There is a large Muslim population in Mauritius, which means that Eid al Adha and all other religious festivals are celebrated and looked upon with all respect and enthusiasm from the Muslim community and other religions. This is the kind of place Mauritius strives to be, a place of harmony where people from different religions come together to celebrate Eid, Christmas, Diwali and other religious festivals in harmony and understanding.â€
Situated off the east coast of Africa, and with a total surface area of just 1865km Mauritius offers plenty of choice for the whole family, if your ideal holiday is to sit back and relax, the 330km of surrounding coastline and pristine white-sand beaches offer the perfect tranquil island escape.
Enjoy the natural beauty of Mauritius, from unspoiled beaches to green forests and experience the stunning landscape taking long walks with the family or bike rides on long cycle-friendly roads. If you’re looking for more activities plenty can be found from fishing trips at one of the island’s many world-class fishing spots, to shopping markets and golf or for the very adventurous try walking with the Lions at Casela Nature Park!
“We’d like to extend an invite to our brothers and sisters from all around the world, especially from the Muslim world, to come and join all of us here in Mauritius in celebrating this sacred Muslim festival,†concluded Dr Karl.
