Etisalat has announced its continued support to Dubai Caresâ€™ School Feeding Campaign that started during the Holy month of Ramadan. Etisalat has pledged its support to the cause by educating its customers on the campaignâ€™s objectives and providing them with channels to easily contribute through SMS.
Khalifa Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Etisalat, said: â€œThe School Feeding Campaign witnessed an enthusiastic response from our customers during the Holy month of Ramadan. The campaign aims to provide children across the third world countries with nutritious food during school days to encourage them to join schools and improve their learning capacities. Etisalat continues its support to the campaign by providing free SMS alerts to customers in order to encourage them to contribute and provide them with channels to do so. Our support will continue till Eid Al Adha giving more and more customers the chances to donate towards the cause.â€
Etisalat has donated AED 25 million in support of several Dubai Caresâ€™ initiatives.
As per statistics and surveys from the World Food Programme (WFP), 72 million children worldwide do not attend school, 66 million attend class hungry and 23 million of them are in Africa alone. Of the total number of children who start school, 150 million drop out before completing five years of education, the minimum level required for basic literacy.
