Rigga Street– a festive celebration of Dubai

The Rigga Street has become a favourite visit for residents and tourists this DSF and numerous activities are attracting crowds to the popular venue located beside Al Ghurair City, a key sponsor of DSF 2010.

Fun Fair

More than 20 rides are on offer to entertain children and young adults as well as the young at heart. The Casa is an instant crowd puller and provides an adrenaline rush to even bystanders. The colourful inflatables present an opportunity to double entertainment with the much needed exercise and fresh air.

Street Musicians

The relaxing sounds of music from different instruments like the violin, flute, cello, drum, guitar, tabla, oud, nay, accordion, buzuqe, and qanoon work wonders for residents on their way home who can grab a hot bite from the food stalls. Music played by members of the Dubai Orchestra and Sharq Orchestra ensures that there is a never dull moment at Rigga.

Roaming Performers

Jugglers, fire dancers, stilt walkers, famous look alikes, clowns, tanura dancers, balloon folders, and unicyclists add to the festive atmosphere as they perform tricks and keep visitors entertained.

Stage Performances

A platform for showcasing different dance styles, different groups of performers take the stage at small intervals and entertain the crowds. Cultural performances include the Serbian, the Greek, and the Middle Asian dance groups.

Handicraft Workshops

Children can enjoy colourful and creative workshops including:

Origami which is an ancient Japanese art of paper folding using geometric folds and crease patterns preferably without the use of glue or cutting the paper medium.

Ceramic painting on objects like flower pots and plates that leave a lasting memory of DSF fun for children as it makes a decorative piece for homes.

Calligraphy Artists seated along Rigga write names of visitors either in English or in Arabic Calligraphy.

Caricature Artists create caricatures of visitors at their request. Visitors can also indulge in other fun creative activities like face painting, glass painting, and the traditional art of henna designing among others.
