Imagenation Abu Dhabi’s feature Film shorts to make Middle East Premiere at the Middle East International Film Festival

Premieres Saturday, October 10th at Emirates Palace

shorts_ver2 The Middle East International Film Festival (MEIFF) will present Imagenation Abu Dhabi’s feature film Shorts as part of the festival line-up on Saturday, October 10th at 4pm UAE time at Emirates Palace. This marks the Middle East premiere of the film which was written and directed by Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids, Sin City, Grindhouse).  Imagenation Abu Dhabi is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Media Company and co-produced Shorts in conjunction with their partnership with Warner Bros.

Released in the U.S. in August 2009, Shorts centers on a nerdy boy whose life changes when a rainbow-colored rock falls from the sky and grants all wishes to anyone who holds it.  This wild kid’s film features William H. Macy, James Spader, Leslie Mann and Jon Cryer.

H.E. Mohamed Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Chairman of Imagenation Abu Dhabi said: “We are proud to present our first feature film, Shorts to our neighbors in Abu Dhabi, the UAE and the Middle East as a whole. The Middle East International Film Festival (MEIFF) was established in 2007 by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) and takes place October 8 – 17 in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates. MEIFF seeks to affirm the key place Abu Dhabi holds as an emerging cultural center and to foster the growth of its local film community. It celebrates cinema in all its forms by creating a vibrant forum for storytellers from the Middle East and around the world.
