The diverse vibrant and resilient fundamentals of the UAE economy have provided strong cushion against the adverse implications of the world financial crunch, H.H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and Ruler, has affirmed.
”These solid foundations and well-studied proactive precautionary measures adopted by the UAE government have helped alleviated the impact of the crisis on the domestic economy,’ Sheikh Sultan said while addressing a gathering last night of businessmen and CEOs of companies operating in Sharjah. Sheikh Sultan also opened a permanent exhibition of local made industrial products at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
”In view of the current situation, the next phase needs an overall assessment with the aim of delineating the course of action to address any challenges or obstacles and handle them through a practical, realistic method,”Sheikh Sultan indicated, calling the private sector to engage in implementation of such policy and shoulder its responsibility along with the government in advancing social, humanitarian and educational sectors.
”The government spares no effort to push forward plans for developing and improving the investment environment to attract feasible economic projects which create job opportunities and meet demands of local market from core services and products,” he added.
He stressed that constructive initiatives seeking to boost viable public-private sectors partnership and cooperation and sustainable development will be welcomed and supported.
Locally, Sheikh Sultan affirmed that Sharjah would forge ahead with its plans to develop and modernise infrastructure and services projects as schedule in order to upgrade services and meet requirements of economic sectors.
Sheikh Sultan then engaged in a dialogue with the CEOs of companies about the current social and economic conditions in the UAE and the region.
