The last twelve months has seen the Middle Eastern retail banks face the twin challenges in their cards business of security threats and exposure to retail credit defaults.

Banks have responded by undertaking a comprehensive review of their practices, including their risk management, technologies and security infrastructure.  These banks are emerging from the global economic crisis stronger and better positioned to service their client base in the region.

The 10th annual Cards Middle East conference and exhibition is the region’s largest and most respected cards and payments event and is once again bringing together senior executives from Middle Eastern banks, retail and government to address the key opportunities and challenges facing the region.  More than 60 exhibitors from across the globe will gather at the Al Bustan Rotana, Dubai on 17 & 18 May to showcase new products and new ideas.

Senior executives from Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Byblos Bank, Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Dubai Duty Free, Gulf Bank, Mashreqbank and Standard Chartered will lead the key discussions on day one of the conference, Monday 17th May.
