13 teams compete in du Microsoft Imagine Cup mobile application competition

Witnesses participation from GCC Universities

du-logo_greenA total of 13 teams have registered in ’Let your dream mobile application out’ mobile application development Competition, being jointly organized by du, the UAE’s integrated telecom service provider and Microsoft Gulf for the second year for Colleges and University students. The winning team will be announced from 6 shortlisted teams who will present their projects at the final ceremony, scheduled to be held on 14 April, 2009.

The Competition is a platform for young and talented scientific minds in Colleges and Universities, designed to unleash creativity and innovation by developing intelligent mobile application suites around specific themes.

The competition, now in its second year, is a key element of Imagine Cup and the result of a 3-year partnership of du with Microsoft. The theme for this year is ‘Imagine a world where technology enables a sustainable environment.’

As the mobile application development competition enters its last leg, we wish all the teams the very best in their effort to win the competition. We believe this effort will unleash scientific creativity and make a real difference in people’s lives.”

A total of 7 Universities submitted their entries for the competition. Among these are 2 Universities from Kuwait while the remaining five Universities are from the UAE. All individuals from the winning team will receive gift vouchers worth AED 3000 each from Plug-ins from du.
