Microsoft Gulf today received an award from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry in recognition of the company’s efforts in being the first technology multi-national to support the “Making It Your Business†program. The program is a joint initiative between Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Vital Voices that aims to create awareness for Breast Cancer. Furthering its commitment to being a socially responsible business leader, Microsoft is one of the key sponsors of the 5th Safe & Sound Pink Walkathon scheduled for Oct 17th, ‘08 that helps raise funds towards patient care and strengthen awareness on breast cancer.

Nasseem Rouhani, Coordinator and Master Trainer of the “Making It Our Business” program said, “The aim of the Pink Walkathon and the “Making It Our Business” program is to reach the right message out to the community to help create awareness on how to detect and beat breast cancer. We value Microsoft’s partnership and hope that with their support, we will be able to encourage families to take charge of their health and empower women in the fight against breast cancer.â€
The Pink Walkathon is part of Burjuman’s Safe & Sound campaign that is one of the region’s largest and most comprehensive breast cancer awareness campaigns. The 3.6 km walk commences at 8 am from Burjuman on Friday, October 17th, 2008 and registered participants have a chance to win prizes ranging from AED 1000 gift vouchers to gym membership and a Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade gaming console.
