The desire of an Emirati young man to make things from nature without depleting it, has made him develop the fastest car on earth that runs using the light from the sun.
Working for many years in pain, penchant and determination, Saqar Bin Saif is about to unveil his new invention; the high-speed solar powered car.

Saqar exhibited the first model of his car earlier at the Dubai Motor Show, thus igniting the curiosity of many car manufacturers around the world. BMW officials marvelled at the exhibit and invited him to Germany on a familiarisation tour of their plants.

Car manufacturers Rolls-Royce have not succeeded yet to develop a solar powered car that can run faster than 35km/ph, but Saqar’s car can be accelerated up to 50km/ph; according to a report in the Arabic daily newspaper ‘Al Emaarat Al Yaum’.

Saqar becomes the first person in the Middle East region to develop a highly efficient solar powered car.

‘We have plenty of sunshine here in this part of the world, so why can’t we make the best use of it?’, asks Saqar as the world is talking more about sustainable development and renewable energy.

Saqar has received offers from US and Germany for partnership with car manufacturers for marketing his invention on a commercial level. The young man is concentrating more on the ways to upgrade his creation by way of developing solar panels which can produce higher amount of power.

Though his academic specialisation in administration is entirely different from science and technology, the Emirati young man takes his hobby very seriously. Since his early childhood, Saqar had shown a talent to explore. He built his own laboratory and workshop beside his home, and used to spend several hours there experimenting.
