Online competition for naming the Burj Dubai Lake Fountain

Emaar organises an on-line competition for naming the spectacular fountain being developed in the Burj Dubai Lake in Downtown Burj Dubai.

This competition has been specifically planned as a participatory event for the public.

Emaar invites all citizens and residents of UAE to be part of one of modern Dubai’s proud contribution to the world’s finest aesthetic projects, one that is set to be a global talking point, one that appeals to tourists from far and wide.

The fountain in Burj Dubai Lake is envisaged as a water, light and music spectacle – truly, one of the world’s finest water features.

The Middle East region has a long history of association with water fountains. From the records of ancient civilizations to modern palaces and parks, water features occupy a place of pride in Middle Eastern societies.

The fountain in Burj Dubai Lake not only builds on this historical legacy but will also add to the aesthetics of Downtown Burj Dubai, which anchors Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest building.

To shoot water spray up to a height of 500 ft – equivalent to a 50-storey building, the fountain will have over 6,000 lights and 50 color projectors, with the water features swaying to the melody of Arabic and international music.

To maximize participation, Emaar request every participant to submit one name for the fountain – in any language of choice but ideally one that reflects the aspirations of the region and the splendor of the fountain.

A panel of judges from Emaar will choose the winner, who will be rewarded a cash prize of AED 100,000.
